Senior Renewable Energy and environmental Expert
Dr. Hamza Khalfalla is a highly accomplished renewable energy engineer and academic with over two decades of experience in solar, wind, and power system engineering. His expertise spans system design, integration, and operation, combining technical depth with strategic insight to advance sustainable energy solutions and grid modernization.
Dr. Khalfalla has contributed to major renewable energy and environmental programs across the Middle East and North Africa, including his role as a Renewable and Environmental Expert with USAID’s Libya Public Financial Management (LPFM) Program, where he provided technical leadership on energy transition policies, institutional reform, and sustainable development planning.
Dr. Khalfalla has also held academic posts as a Lecturer at Newcastle College and Al-Zawia University, as well as a Researcher and Lab Demonstrator at Newcastle University, contributing to education and research in electrical machines, power electronics, and grid-connected inverter systems.
He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and an M.Sc. in Electrical Power Engineering from Newcastle University (UK), and a B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Garyounis University (Libya). His professional development includes advanced training in power system control, operation, and restoration, and software development for power applications in Paris and Dubai.
