Mr. Ed Elrahal is a seasoned sustainable energy specialist with over thirty years of professional experience in power sector development, renewable energy transition, and institutional reform. He has successfully managed large and complex projects in challenging environments, leading climate change and sustainable energy initiatives across multiple countries.
His distinguished career includes significant experience in the United States energy industry, where he served at Duke Energy Corporation in a range of technical and managerial roles covering electric generation, transmission, distribution, customer service, rate design, financial modeling, and regulatory affairs. His tenure at Duke Energy provided him with comprehensive insight into the full operational and financial spectrum of modern utilities.
From 2006 to 2009, Mr. Elrahal served as Managing Director for the Middle East and North Africa region at Galveston LNG, a Canadian company developing global liquefied natural gas (LNG) assets. In this role, he led strategic projects and high-level negotiations with governments, private entities, and shareholders across Qatar, Abu Dhabi, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Canada, and the United States, strengthening energy cooperation and investment frameworks.
Mr. Elrahal’s more recent work has focused on renewable energy policy, electricity market restructuring, and institutional capacity building. He has provided strategic leadership in developing sustainable energy frameworks, enhancing regulatory governance, and supporting the transition toward competitive, low-carbon power systems.
